Man steals $25K urethroscope from apartment building in Long Island City

Police are looking for a man who illegally entered a Long Island City apartment building and removed a package containing a $25,000 digital urethroscope from the lobby.

On June 4 at approximately 12:40 a.m., a male suspect entered a building at the intersection of 28th Street and 41st Avenue and removed the package. He then fled the location. There were no reported injuries.

A urethroscope is an instrument used by doctors to view the inside of a patient’s urethra.

The individual is described as an adult Asian male with brown eyes and short black hair. He was last seen wearing black shoes, blue jeans and a button-down gray shirt.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 888-57-PISTA (74782).  The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
