Visit the "Flushing Night Out" night market that kicks off in July!

The real summer fun arises when the sun goes down. “Flushing Night Out” will be an action-packed event filled with food, fashion and music on four Friday nights from July to August.

Flushing High School, the oldest public high school celebrating its 140th anniversary, will host the night market at 35-01 Union St. from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Each Friday night will have its own unique theme and music such as: “Summer Nights” – July 15, “Beach Day” – July 29, “Unwind” – August 12 and “(718) Love” – August 26.

The second annual community market and social event will be open to the public, free of charge. Visitors can expect an exciting variety of food and fashion vendors, plus a diverse range of live music and entertainment.

Some of this year’s innovative new vendors will include: House of Mac serving Classic Mac and Cheese, Fried Mac and Cheese, and Waffle Mac and Cheese; Vietnamese cuisine from Nguyen’s Kitchen and Rib in a Cup, crafting up sizzling barbecue. Veterans of past night markets, which were attended by over 3,000 guests, will also return this summer. Look out for familiar vendors like Arbonne International; Bao Baos; Body and Brain Yoga & Taichi; and Karl’s Balls.

“Flushing Night Out will not only highlight our extraordinary entrepreneurial spirit and showcase our amazing cultural diversity, but also build a space for all people to come together to celebrate and take pride in our neighborhood,” stated John Choe, executive director of the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce in a press release issued on Wednesday.  “We’re very proud to partner with Flushing High School, which is where the future is happening now.”

The Greater Flushing Chamber recently launched a crowdfunding campaign through, seeking public sponsorship for the event. The Chamber also announced its partnership with Flushing High School on Wednesday at a press conference.

“Hosting and partnering with the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce is the beginning of what we believe to be a wonderful opportunity to open up the school to the community and provide a place to gather and celebrate the greatness of Flushing,” said Tyee Chin, principal of Flushing HS, in Wednesday’s news release.

Sponsors of Flushing Night Out are: Dry Sparking, Green Earth Urban Gardens, Mugwort Consulting, Gerson Properties, and Regen Acupuncture. For more information about the event or sponsorship, contact John@FlushingChamber.NYC or (646) 783-8985.
