UPDATED WEDNESDAY, JULY 6, 12:10 P.M.

Crews are still making repairs to the underground secondary feeder cable that left many homes and businesses without power along Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood yesterday.

Although Con Ed is currently working to repair the cable, they have confirmed that power has been restored to the 50 buildings that lost power.

According to Con Ed, the outage started at 12:23 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, and power was restored later that night, at 8:35 p.m.

In order to remove the malfunctioning cable, a few customers in the area may experience short disruptions in their service, a Con Ed spokesperson said. Once they remove the faulty cable, it will be sent to Con Ed’s analyzing lab where they will be able to pinpoint exactly what caused the cable to malfunction.
