Travel the world…one bite at a time.

The Nest Restaurant & Bar will host an International Food Tasting Festival at its South Richmond Hill venue on Wednesday, July 13, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40 in advance, but $50 at the door.

This inaugural, annual (the organizers hope) event will feature chefs from at least eight different countries. They will offer signature dishes from their homelands to attendees who will be able to walk from display to display, sampling the provisions.

As of publishing time, expected participants included Hado Sushi & Thai Cuisine in Briarwood; Mahalo Bakery, which offers Hawaii-inspired pastries in Glendale; 101 Punjabi Grill/Virsa in Ozone Park; Sandy’s Roti & Deli in South Richmond Hill; and of course, The Nest, which serves Caribbean and Chinese eats at 125-17 101st Ave.

The owner of The Nest, Dave Kadarnauth, says he has seven barbecue sauces that he wants to promote at the festival.

The sampling tables will be in The Nest’s outdoor area, but an indoor cash bar will be open, too, and Team Black Jack will provide live entertainment.
