UPDATED: Woman dies on Grand Central Parkway after jumping from Astoria train station

A woman found dead on the Grand Central Parkway on Sunday night leaped from the Astoria Boulevard train station in Astoria, according to police.

At 10:48 p.m., police found the woman near exit 5 on the Grand Central Parkway with severe trauma to her head and body. An investigation found that she had jumped from the elevated tracks at 31st Street. She was then hit by an unknown car traveling eastbound, police said.

Police identified the victim as Paula Henao of 29th Street in Astoria. An NYPD spokesperson said her age was not released. A LinkedIn account for a Paula Henao of Astoria stated that she worked as a brand ambassador for CA Courtesy, a marketing company with locations in Massachusetts, New York, Maryland and Washington D.C.

The car did not stay at the scene and the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.
