One of the best ways to make the most of the soaring heat is to chill out while sipping on a nice summer ale at one of the best outdoor markets in the city.

This weekend, head to LIC Flea & Food (5-25 46th Ave, Long Island City) for a warm-up before the first ever Queens Beer Festival, which is going down on October 15 and 16.

LIC Flea & Food will have six Queens-based breweries — and their respective brewers — on hand to talk about their beers with the community.

The Queens-made beers will be available all weekend long. In addition, between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., attendees can sample the brews and learn the back story of the local beer directly from the beer makers. Visitors can also enjoy food representing the ethnic diversity of Queens from a wide range of food makers and shop a diverse range of antiques, vintage wares, collectibles, art, crafts, and fashion items.

The event will feature breweries such as Bridge and Tunnel Brewery, Queens Brewery, Big Alice Brewing, SingleCut Brewery, Finback Brewery and Rockaway Brewing Company.

The beer sampling event is part of LIC Flea & Food’s month-long July Food and Beer Festival, which features different food specialties each week.

Bring your friends, taste some delicious food, and crack open a beer!

Since you’re already feeling the outdoor market fever, it would be a sin to miss out on the last night of the Astoria Night Market held at Kaufman Studios this Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight.
