It wasn’t a scene from TV comedy series Jane the Virgin, but real life when a mother gave birth on an MTA bus in Queens yesterday.

The mother went into labor during rush hour, at about 6:15 p.m., while riding a Q9 bus in Jamaica, FDNY spokesperson said. The bus pulled over at on the corner of 150th Street and Jamaica Avenue, and the woman gave birth to a baby boy inside of the bus.

It wasn’t immediately clear who assisted with the birth. The FDNY arrived on the scene and transported the mother and child to Jamaica Hospital.

The MTA could not be reached for comment.
