According to National Day Calendar, which keeps track of national days like this, National Taco Day started in 2009 and ever since, we’ve been celebrating the existence of tacos on Oct. 4.

The best way to celebrate National Taco Day is to go out and get a taco! Whether you prefer hard or soft, chicken or beef, or any variation of tacos, all tacos are created equal on National Taco Day.
