Residents lined up to vote in Bayside

Bayside residents are making sure their voices are being heard this Election Day.

Operations were running smoothly inside of local polling place Bayside High School at 32-24 Corporal Kennedy St. Residents lined up this morning to cast their votes for candidates running in local and presidential elections.

Between 6 a.m. — when the polls officially opened — and 10 a.m., more than 1,200 people showed up to the Bayside polling place, according to one poll worker. She also said an even higher voter turnout at the location is expected before the day ends.

Polling places will remain open today until 9 p.m. Individuals will be able to vote as long as they are in line at their polling place by 9 p.m.

Stay tuned to QNS all day for election updates.
