A St. Albans woman has been arrested and charged for causing the death of a woman whom she allegedly pushed in front of a subway train in Manhattan.

The incident occurred at 1:20 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, at the Times Square-42nd Street station on the South Ferry-bound platform of the 1 train line.

Upon arrival, police found an unconscious and unresponsive 49-year-old woman on the subway tracks. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Connie Watton of Long Island City.

Following an investigation, 30-year-old Melanie Liverpool of St. Albans was taken into custody in regards to the incident. According to published reports, Liverpool was seen arguing with Watton by witnesses moments before the incident.
