Law & Order: SVU will be filming a large hostage scene on 64th Street in Ridgewood on Tuesday.

Bayside is becoming a popular spot for filming a television series these days.

Signs were spotted in Bayside stating that NBC’s popular crime series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” will be filming near Bayside High School today, Nov. 17.

The hit series stars Mariska Hargitay as Lieutenant Olivia Benson, who is the commanding officer of the Special Victims Unit and is always fighting for the victims of sexual assault crimes and looks to do the right thing.

The show also features an elite squad who helps Benson solve these sexually based crimes in New York City, starring Ice-T, Kelli Giddish, Peter Scanavino and Raul Esparza. The series is a spin-off of Dick Wolf’s original series “Law & Order” and is currently in its 18th season.

This is not the first time that Bayside has been sought out as a backdrop for a television series. Earlier this month, production trucks were spotted in Bayside working of season four of the series “Power” on the Starz network.

“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
