Santa Claus and his wife Mrs. Claus ride their sleigh along Jamaica Avenue during the Welcome Santa to Woodhaven Parade on Dec. 3.

Old St. Nick took some time out of his very busy schedule to travel down to Woodhaven on Saturday morning for the neighborhood’s annual “Welcome Santa to Woodhaven Parade.”

Joined by his wife, Mrs. Claus, Santa rode his sleigh along Jamaica Avenue from 96th Street to the Franklin K. Lane Campus near Dexter Court. They were accompanied by a host of participants including school groups, the Franklin K. Lane Junior ROTC, the Woodhaven History Club, the East Coast Car Association and the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation, which sponsored the event.

Hundreds of children of all ages lined Jamaica Avenue to take in the festivities on a chilly yet sunny morning on Woodhaven’s premier shopping strip. Some of the lucky participants even got the chance to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the end of the parade.

Here’s a closer look at some of the festivities:
