Police are on the hunt for a man who took off with a grand from a Long Island City bank.

At around 11:04 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, a male individual entered a Chase bank located at 25-15 Queens Plaza North. He approached the teller and passed a note that was demanding money.

The bank teller complied with the note and handed money over to the individual. The individual then fled the scene in an unknown direction with approximately $1,000 in hand.

The individual is described as a 45-year-old black man with a beard, standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and weighing 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a striped hat, blue sweater and black sneakers.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS or for Spanish 888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
