Police have released an image of the suspect who beat up a 64-year-old woman during a fight over a seat while riding the E train in Elmhurst on Tuesday night.

Law enforcement sources said the perpetrator — a black female believed to be 30 years of age — got into the dispute with the victim on board a Jamaica Center-bound E train at 7:05 p.m. on Jan. 10 as it approached the Roosevelt Avenue station.

The exchange of words turned violent, authorities said, when the suspect punched the victim numerous times in the face, causing injuries. The incident was later reported to the 110th Precinct and the NYPD Transit Bureau.

A cellphone picture of the assailant was released by police on Wednesday night, Jan. 11.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS, visit their website or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
