Serial purse snatcher sought for series of robberies in Ridgewood & Bushwick

Police are on the hunt for a man who attempted to rob three women on three separate occasions in Ridgewood and Brooklyn.

The first incident took place on Monday, Dec. 19, at around 9:15 p.m. A male individual approached a 41-year-old woman in the vicinity of Wyckoff Avenue and Hart Street in Bushwick. the suspect took the victim’s handbag, which contained $100 in cash, a debit card and a cell phone.

The second incident occurred on Monday, Jan. 9, at 10:40 p.m. The suspect approached a 69-year-old woman who was attempting to enter her residence on Hart Street in Brooklyn. He took the victim’s handbag off of her shoulder, which contained $150 in cash and a Visa gift card, and fled the scene.

The third incident happened at around 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17. The suspect approached a 41-year-old woman as she was walking on Woodward Avenue and Stanhope Street in Ridgewood. He grabbed the victim by the arm and pushed her to the ground. As he attempted to take her handbag, the victim started to scream, causing the suspect to flee the scene without any stolen property.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male aged 40- to 45-years-old, standing approximately five feet, five inches tall, weighing between 150 and 160 pounds and having a gray and white goatee. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, light gray sweatpants, and white sneakers.
