Fire marshals are investigating the cause of a fire at a garage in Rosedale on Sunday morning that claimed the life of a 51-year-old man.

Multiple Fire Department units and the 105th Precinct responded to the blaze that broke out at 8:30 a.m. on April 2 in the detached garage of a home on Edgewood Avenue near Brookville Boulevard.

After extinguishing the fire, authorities said, firefighters found Douglas Reid, who resided at the location, unconscious and unresponsive with burns all over his body.

EMS transported the victim to Franklin General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing.
