Police are looking for a man who is scrawling homophobic language on Astoria buildings.

The 114th Precinct has stepped up its efforts to find a man who has been using spray paint to tag Astoria buildings with anti-gay graffiti.

The suspect has defaced a number of buildings including one that houses the offices of State Sen. Michael Gianaris and Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas. In total, police believe he is responsible for 16 incidents of criminal mischief.

Most recently, the suspect spray painted the word f**s on the door of a building at 27-16 18th St. Surveillance video captured the incident, which occurred on May 2 at 5:34 a.m.

He is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet, 200 pounds and last seen wearing a long black jacket with a hoodie, black pants and dark boots.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).  The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.

  • Incident #1: December 04, 2016 graffiti was discovered at 31-19 Newton Ave. with the words “kill F**s and D**es”
  • Incident #2: March 11, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 31-19 Newton Ave. with the words “Obama F****t”
  • Incident #3: March 20, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 31-19 Newton Ave. with the words “Obama F****t” and “Obama F****t Haxai”
  • Incident# 4:  March 20, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 25-22 30th Ave. with the words “Obama F****t”
  • Incident # 5: March 21, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 29-32 30th Ave. with the words “Obama F****t”
  • Incident # 6: March 25, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 23-24 29th Ave. with the words “Obama F****t”
  • Incident# 7: March 25, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 33-18 Broadway with the words “Obama F****t”
  • Incident# 8: March 26, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 21-34 28th Ave. with the words “Obama F****t”
  • Incident # 9: March 27, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 31-19 Newtown Ave. with the words “Obama F****t”
  • Incident # 10: April 04, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 27-16 18th Street with the words “F**s F**s”
  • Incident #11: April 22, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 21-33 29th Ave. with the words “Obama F****t”
  • Incident #12: April 22, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 21-34 28th Ave. with the words “Obama F****t”
  • Incident #13: April 22, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 21-34 29th Ave. with the words “Obama F****t”
  • Incident #14: May 01, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 21-33 29th Ave. with the words “Obama F****t”
  • Incident #15: May 01, 2017 graffiti was discovered at 21-34 28th Street with the words “Obama F****t”
