Quick-responding officers from the 110th Precinct caught one of the two robbers who invaded a Corona home on Thursday night and held three people at gunpoint in a hallway, law enforcement sources said.

Police said the trouble began just before 11:10 p.m. on June 1, when Jesus Palacio, 36, of Lynn, MA and a second, unidentified suspect arrived at a home on 102nd Street near Christie Avenue.

According to authorities, Palacio and the other bandit forced their way inside the home and confronted three victims: two men, ages 25 and 39, and a 27-year-old woman. They allegedly pointed a gun at them and demanded cash.

Police were tipped off to the incident, and when the officers arrived at the scene, they found Palacio allegedly pointing a Baretta 9mm semi-automatic revolver at them inside a hallway.

Law enforcement sources said the officers ordered Palacio to drop the weapon; they would subsequently take him into custody without further incident and recover the gun. None of the victims were injured.

Palacio was booked on charges of robbery, burglary, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

The second perpetrator, however, managed to escape the scene through a rear bedroom window. Police initiated a land and air search for the suspect, utilizing the Aviation Unit and the K-9 Units in canvassing the surrounding area. Despite their efforts, the suspect was not apprehended.

Police described the wanted bandit as a Hispanic male with facial hair standing 6 feet tall and weighing 250 pounds who was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black-and-white sneakers.
