Long Island City residents will soon have a new spot to purchase coffee, a pastry or brunch on the weekend.

Black Star Bakery, which has a location in Williamsburg, will open at 2-10 50th Ave. at the end of in August, according to owner Dan Magor. The site used to house Beans, Grapes & Leave, a cafe that also sold wine, sweets, charcuterie, salads and more.

In addition to coffee, the Williamsburg location offers a variety of croissants, pastries like cheese danishes and muffins, breakfast specials like avocado toast and Siracha egg and cheese, sandwiches, bagels, yogurt and granola and macarons.

Magor said the Long Island City space is larger and he will also “offer an amazing variety of pastries, many different delicious breakfast [and] brunch options and great local coffee and espresso.”
