Astoria Central, a seven-story apartment building that opened in March, is welcoming a new preschool to the neighborhood.

The Learning Experience (TLE), which has early childhood education centers around the country, will open a location at 31-53 31st St., the Commercial Observer first reported. The 114-unit building began leasing one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments in March.

According to Nick Vanella, executive vice president of real estate at TLE, the company is renting a 11,333-square-foot space at the building. TLE was founded in 1980 in Florida and now has locations in 19 states. The company also operates a center in Long Island City.

The company serves children 6 weeks to 5 years old and focuses on subjects such as reading, science, math, music and technology. Each location also includes an outdoor play area.

Vanella said there is no set date for the opening but TLE would like to open their location by the end of the year.
