Police are looking for two men who stole a vehicle in Astoria.

Two men lured a 73-year-old out of his vehicle in Astoria in order to steal the car earlier this month. Now, the suspects are still on the run, cops said.

According to law enforcement sources, the incident occurred on Sept. 13 at about 9:41 a.m. near 44th Street and 25th Avenue. The 73-year-old male victim was parking his 2012 Honda Accord when the suspects approached him in a white or silver vehicle and accused him of causing property damage.

The victim exited his car to check the duo’s claims, leaving his own car running. He was pinned down to the ground while one suspect climbed into his car, police said, and the second suspect got into the other car before they fled the scene.

There were no reported injuries and the victim’s car was found at 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of 64th Street and 37th Avenue.

The first suspect is described as a black male who was last seen wearing dark clothing. There is no description for the second suspect.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
