After a call for the public’s help to locate two missing young girls from Bayside, the NYPD announced that the kids have returned home safely.

At approximately 11:10 a.m. on Oct. 19, Sofia Cadena, 10, of 225th Street and Clare Kim, 11, of 59th Avenue in the Oakland Gardens area returned to their homes, an NYPD spokesperson said. They are safe and reunited with their families.

The two girls were reported missing on Oct. 18 and were last seen inside their residences that same afternoon. The New York Daily News said the girls — who attend the same Flushing school and live around the corner from each other — went to Cadena’s home after school and claimed that they were heading out to walk the dog.

Instead, they left behind a note telling their parents that they were running away together. Reportedly, their parents believed they were heading toward Central Park in Manhattan.

The 111th Precinct took to Twitter to thank the community for their help.
