Police are investigating the death of an 8-year-old girl who was found dead in her family’s apartment in Ozone Park.
At 6:15 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22, 106th Precinct officers responded to a 911 call of an aided child inside the home on Liberty Avenue near 105th Street. Upon their arrival, police found 8-year-old Kayla Sanchez unconscious and unresponsive.
EMS responded to the location and pronounced Sanchez dead at the scene.
According to police, there were no visible signs of trauma to Sanchez’s body. The Daily News reported that Sanchez has been to the doctor two days earlier complaining of a sore throat and stomach pains.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
