Police are looking for a suspect who shot at a man with an extensive arrest record on a Fresh Meadows street on Monday night.

On Oct. 23 at around 9:50 p.m., an unidentified suspect fired several shots at a 46-year-old male victim at 71st Avenue and Kissena Boulevard, according to police. The victim was struck one time in the buttocks and was treated at an area hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

Surveillance footage released by the NYPD show the suspect and victim walking down the sidewalk in opposite directions. The two appear to exchange words when the suspect pulls out a gun.

The victim then appears to throw a liquid at the suspect and begins to run away when the suspect fires several shots in his direction. After the incident, the suspect fled northbound on Kissena Boulevard.

An NYPD spokesperson said authorities believe the incident stemmed from a verbal dispute. The 46-year-old victim has an extensive arrest history, the spokesperson also said.

The incident was reported to the 107th Precinct.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, red hooded sweater, grey sweatpants and black sneakers.
