Don’t let your old jack-o-lantern go to waste. Use it to help bring new life at the Pumpkin Smash Fest & Daffodil Planting event in Forest Hills.

The Earth Citizens Club is inviting the public to help beautify Ehrenreich-Austin Playground on Sunday, Nov. 5. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., participants can help compost their old jack-o-lanterns and gourds and plant daffodil bulbs in the park.

The free event will also include eco-friendly activities and crafts, such as making your own bird feeders. You may even have an opportunity to bring a seed home for yourself. Hot cider and snacks will be served.

All pumpkin pieces and guts will be transported to the Forest Hills Food Scraps Drop off site at 1 p.m.
