Police are looking for Jonathan Baez, who fatally shot a man in East Elmhurst in October.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who shot a 25-year-old Bronx resident in East Elmhurst last month.

Jonathan Baez, 26, shot Karron Alston in an alley at 31st Avenue and 95th Street on Oct. 12 at about 9:50 p.m. At the scene, police found a gunshot wound to Alston’s head and upper torso. He was escorted to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the Daily News, Alston had gotten into a fight with a group of men and was winning the fight until one of the men pulled a gun. After initially fleeing, the suspect came back to the scene to retrieve his sandals, the Daily News reported.

Alston, who lived on Halleck Street in the Bronx, had been arrested 12 times for marijuana possession, one robbery and in several cases for assault, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA), visit their website or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
