Police are looking for a man who snatched a woman’s purse off of her lap while on board a J train in Woodhaven.

According to law enforcement sources, the 25-year-old woman was riding a Jamaica Center-bound J train at noon on Dec. 10 as it approached the 75th Street-Elderts Lane station. She was then approached by an unknown individual, who grabbed the woman’s purse off of her lap and fled the station to parts unknown.

No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

The suspect is described as a white man with a light complexion, aged 20 to 30-years-old. He was last seen wearing a dark colored coat, gray hoodie, blue jeans and dark colored shoes.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS or for Spanish 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
