Cops looking for masked man who beat and robbed a 72-year-old woman in Ozone Park

Police are looking for a masked man who attacked a senior woman and stole her wallet in Ozone Park near the Brooklyn/Queens border.

At 8:55 p.m. on Jan. 11, law enforcement sources said, a 72-year-old woman was walking near the corner of 75th Street and Pitkin Avenue, where an unknown man wearing a mask came up to her from behind, put her in a headlock and punched her in the face.

Authorities said the assailant then forcibly took the victim’s wallet, which contained a Medicare benefits card, from her jacket. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and fled westbound on Pitkin Avenue.

Officers from the 106th Precinct responded to the incident. The victim suffered swelling to the face and refused medical attention.

Police described the suspect as a black man who was last seen wearing black jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt and white sneakers.
