Driver charged after crashing his car into another vehicle in South Richmond Hill

A man was arrested after he crashed his car into another vehicle in South Richmond Hill on Wednesday, injuring several people.

At 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 24, Rory Ramkhellawan, 53, was driving into the vicinity of 117th Street and 107th Avenue when he ran a red light and crashed his car into another vehicle that had passengers inside.

Officers arrived at the scene and observed that Ramkhellawan was found in his car with keys in the ignition and was under the influence of alcohol.

Ramkhellawan was transported to Jamaica Hospital and was subsequently arrested by officers. He was charged with vehicular assault, reckless endangerment and driving while ability impaired.

At this time, police could not confirm details regarding the current conditions of the passengers.
