The owners of Queens Comfort in Astoria announced on Instagram that they would close up shop next month. But a brand-new sign plastered on the window of a vacant shop two blocks away indicates they’ll be up and running again.

According to a post on their Instagram account, the restaurant at 40-09 30th Ave., will officially close on Feb. 4. The eatery serves elevated comfort food and a variety of sandwiches, burgers, brunch items and starters like atomic fire balls, disco tots and Cap’n Crunch chicken fingers.

A sign with the words “Queens Comfort” on top of a wolf head is currently affixed to a window at 36-13 30th Ave., the old Sugar Freak location. Sugar Freak, a popular Astoria restaurant, moved to 36-18 30th Ave. last summer.

In November 2017, We Heart Astoria reported about rumors that a new business called Peanut Butter World opening at 36-13 30th Ave. was actually a front for Queens Comfort.

An employee at Queens Comfort confirmed the move during a phone call but said he did not have further details. The owners were not available for comment.
