Updated on March 21 at 12:50 p.m.

A Queens man quickly realized he wasn’t just dreaming when cops arrested him in Ridgewood while sleeping in his car.

According to authorities, officers from the 104th Precinct conditions team observed a car parked in front of a fire hydrant on March 16 at 11:47 p.m. at the northeast corner of Wyckoff Avenue and Centre Street.

After approaching the vehicle, law enforcement sources said, police observed two marijuana cigarettes in plain sight on the center console. With cause to search the vehicle, police discovered bags of marijuana, gummy candies infused with cannabis, chocolate bars infused with cannabis and liquid marijuana.

Police could not confirm the amount of paraphernalia that was seized.

The suspect was arrested and has been identified as Nazmul Islam, 34, a Queens resident. Court records show that Islam was arraigned on March 17 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, two counts of criminal possession of marijuana and a traffic infraction.

Islam was released on recognizance and is due to appear in court again on May 9, records show.
