Two men who swiped cash from an Astoria grocery store earlier this week have been linked to three other heists in Brooklyn.
Police said the Queens caper occurred at 4:30 a.m. on April 2 at the Verdi Fresh shop located at the corner of 31st Street and 21st Avenue.
According to law enforcement sources, the two bandits walked into the store, then went behind the counter and threatened at 56-year-old male employee. They proceeded to remove $300 in cash, then exited the shop and entered a white vehicle nearby.
Cops said the vehicle was last seen heading northbound on 32nd Street.
Officers from the 114th Precinct responded to the incident; no injuries were reported.
Through an investigation, detectives determined that the duo is also responsible for three gas station holdups in south Brooklyn, dating back to March 31.
On April 5, the NYPD released security camera footage of the suspects taken during one of the Brooklyn robberies. Police described both perpetrators as Hispanic men standing 5 foot 5 inches tall, weighing about 175 pounds and wearing all-black clothing.
