Another car dealership will join the already crowded race for customers in northeast Queens this spring when the building on the northwest corner of Northern Boulevard and 215th Street in Bayside is scheduled to be completed.
There are already at least eight car dealerships along Northern Boulevard between the Clearview Expressway and the Cross Island Parkway and about three or four auto body shops.
Manhattan architect Michael Macaluso, of the firm M. J. Macaluso and Associates, said the new General Motors dealership would sell Pontiac, Buick, and other General Motors products.
It is slated to be completed by March or April.
The property was the former home of the Broadway Lumberyard, which went out of business about two years ago.
General Motors is the only car company without an office on Northern Boulevard in Bayside, an area highly saturated with automobile dealerships.
