Police Blotter: Greenpoint Bank robbed in Forest Hills

FOREST HILLS-An unidentified suspect left the Greenpoint Savings Bank with $3,100 Tuesday. Police Officer Chris Cottingham said.

The suspect walked into the bank at 108-37 Queens Blvd. and handed the bank teller a note saying he had a gun and wanted money, he said.

The robbery took place at 12:39 p.m. and the suspect drove away in a blue Cadillac. There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing, Cottingham said.

WFAN receives bomb threat

ASTORIA- There was a bomb threat called in at the Astoria Kaufman Studios at 34-12 36th St. last Thursday morning, but police determined the threat to be a hoax.

The threat was made by a caller to the WFAN sports radio station at 11:43 a.m., and the building was promptly evacuated. Officer Kevin Tyrell said police searched the building and allowed employees to re-enter the building shortly after 2 p.m.

The identity of the caller was not known.

Man stabbed to death in Richmond Hill

RICHMOND HILL- A 32 year old man was stabbed Tuesday evening at 102-30 107th Ave. Police officer Robert Samuel said the man was taken to Jamaica Hospital shortly after 6 p.m., where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
