The Douglaston Community Theater is presenting its winter production, “The Perfect Party,” written by A.A. Gurney the playwright who has written “Love Letters,” “Sylvia” and several other audience favorites.
It is a sparkling comedy about Tony, a college history professor (played by Michael Zurik), who becomes obsessed with correct protocol and etiquette. His interest becomes so all-consuming that he works up the courage to throw a perfect party and alerts several newspapers about the grand effort. One large New York City newspaper is so intrigued that it agrees to assign a critic to review the event.
Of course, Tony is thrilled and at first all seems to go well, but gradually things begin to unravel. Will today's perfect party get a perfect review or will it become the social disaster of the year?
“The Perfect Party” is directed by Eugene Sullivan and the rest of the cast includes Annette Daiell, Adrianne Noroian, Sandi Taurisano, and Tom Williams.
