Inferno Destroys Two Queens Businesses

A three-alarm fire ripped through a strip of Woodside stores on Monday, destroying a Mexican restaurant and a small grocery store. The blaze, at the corner or 61 Street and Roosevelt Avenue spread quickly to local businesses. Two bakeries, a pizza shop, a one-hour photo shop, a jewelry store, and a womens clothing shop were closed because of the heavy smoke and water damage.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries, and the cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
