Martin Luther High School, 60-02 Maspeth Ave., Maspeth will open its doors to all current 7th and 8th grade students and their families on Sun., Oct. 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and also on Thurs., Oct. 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for its annual Fall Open House. Prospective students will also be given the opportunity to register for the upcoming Academic Excellence Scholarship Exam and Entrance Exam on Sat., Oct. 28 at 8:30 a.m. 718-894-4000.

The Reform Temple of Forest Hills holds a dramatic reading and community study of Genesis 22, The Binding of Isaac during the observance of Selichot, the prayers of forgiveness. The temple conducts Tashlikh service on the second day of Rosh Hashanah on Sunday, Oct. 1. The congregation joins Rabbi Mayer Perelmuter and Cantor Cary Schwartz at 3:15 p.m. for a walk from the temple, 71-11 112th St., to a lake in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park to cast bread crumbs, symbolizing sins of the pevious year, into the water.
