Support Groups

Queens Rape Counseling Center 71-49 Loubet St., Forest Hills, offers two weekly support groups, The first meets on Monday from 5:20 p.m. to 7 p.m. for victims of both sexual abuse and domestic violence. The second meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for victims of sexual abuse. 718-263-2013.

The Compassionate Friends of Flushing, a bereavement support group for parents who have lost a child, meets at The Church on the Hill, 167th St and 35111 Ave., Flushing, at 7:30 p.m. on the 3rd Friday of every month. Next meeting is Nov. 17. 718-746-5010.

A Lyme disease support group has been formed in Queens to assist borough residents in coping with the tick-borne illness. A support group can be very helpful to a patient in understanding the multiple symptoms of Lyme disease. 718- 263-8490.

The Internal Revenue Service Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program which assists taxpayers that file basic tax returns and cannot afford to pay professional preparers.
