A bus that was delivering the ex-prisoners to their final release point at Queens Plaza was traveling westbound on Northern Boulevard at about 3:15 a.m., said Police Officer Chris Cottingham, a police spokesman.
A tractor trailer pulled into the intersection of 56th Street and Northern Boulevard, the bus swerved to avoid it and flipped over, Cottingham said. As the bus slid on the street, it hit another westbound car, but the driver of that car was not hurt, Cottingham said.
Among the 41 injured prisoners taken to area hospitals, two were in critical condition and rushed to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan. One prison guard was taken to New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens in stable condition, Cottingham said.
Four ex-prisoners left the scene without seeking medical attention, he said.
Cops offer VIN etching at Bay Terrace Center
BAY TERRACE — The 111th Precinct in Bayside and the 109th Precinct in Flushing were set to offer VIN etching at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center Saturday.
It is a free service by the NYPD: a car's Vehicle Identification Number is burned into its windows, discouraging thieves from taking the car to use or resell the parts.
Two men shot at Jamaica club
JAMAICA- Two men were shot in the early morning hours Saturday at Club Amazura in Jamaica, police said.
A dispute started at the club at 91-12 144th Place, and a 27-year-old man was shot in the leg, said Detective Carolyn Chew, a police spokeswoman.
The argument continued outside where another 27-year-old man was shot in the stomach, Chew said.
Both victims were taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital in stable condition. Police recovered a handgun at the scene, and were investigating.
Man hit by ambulance on Hillside Avenue
JAMAICA- A 58-year-old man was running across Hillside Avenue Monday morning when he was struck by an ambulance with its emergency lights and sirens on, police said.
Marc Yusin of Brooklyn was hit by the bumper of the eastbound ambulance as it tried to avoid him near 162nd Street, said Sgt. James Foley, a police spokesman.
Yusin was taken by another ambulance to Mary Immaculate Hospital in stable condition, said Foley
Police issued two summonses to Champion Ambulance for a defective break and a defective turn signal.
Man shot in dispute on Jamaica Avenue
JAMAICA- A 19-year-old man was shot after a dispute with a group of other men Saturday, police said.
The victim was shot in the buttocks at about 12:15 a.m. on Queens Boulevard and Jamaica Avenue, police said. He was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition, said Detective Carolyn Chew, a police spokeswoman.
Police were investigating.
Fake cops rob 11 in Steinway apt.
STEINWAY- Two men were arrested for allegedly impersonating police officers and then stealing $1,967 from 11 victims in a Steinway apartment Monday afternoon, police said.
Two men came into the building at 20-12 41st St. with fake shields and scanners, and entered one of the apartments, said Carmen Melendez, a department spokeswoman.
The two left the apartment with the cash, and when the victims realized they were not police officers, they began to chase after them, said Melendez.
Police arrested Ray Hernandez, 25, of Manhattan, and Sandro Ramirez, 27, of 97-19 132nd Ave. in Richmond Hill.
Man found hanged at Queens Blvd. stop
ELMHURST- An unidentified man in his 30s was found dead at an E train stop at Queens Boulevard and 75th Street in an apparent suicide, police said.
At about 12:50 a.m. Sunday a passerby spotted the man, who had apparently hanged himself with his own belt.
The medical examiner is to determine the specific cause of death.
Man stabbed on Greenpoint Ave.
SUNNYSIDE- A 20-year-old man was found stabbed several times by an unknown number of assailants Sunday, police said.
The man was found at Greenpoint Avenue and 48th Street at about 1:58 a.m., said Police Officer Louis Cruz, a department spokesman. The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition, police said.
An investigation was continuing.

28-year-old woman raped in Astoria apt.
ASTORIA- A 28-year-old woman was raped in her apartment Sunday night, police said.
An unidentified man forced his way into her home near Broadway and 29th Street, said Joseph Cavitolo, a police spokesman. The man also took an undisclosed amount of cash and property, said Cavitolo.
There were no arrests and the investigation was continuing.
Maspeth man charged in Mexican laborer beating
MASPETH – A grand jury has charged a Maspeth man who was arrested in the beating of two Mexican day laborers from Farmingville, L.I., a Suffolk County District Attorney spokesman said Tuesday.
Ryan Wagner, 19, of 59-57 60th Lane was charged with two counts of attempted murder in the second degree, one count of assault in the first degree, and two counts of aggravated assault, said Suffolk County DA spokesman Jon Zaher.
Also charged was Christopher Slavin, 29 of Holbrook. Wagner was being held without bail, but Zaher said a hearing was scheduled for later this week.
Ditmars man fighting with wife hits baby: Cops
DITMARS- A 43-year-old man was charged Friday night with assault and endangering the welfare of a child after he allegedly hurt his infant, police said.
Costas Boudias was arguing with his 26-year-old wife when the two got into a physical fight in their 27th Avenue home, said Detective Carolyne Chew, a police spokeswoman.
Their 5-month old baby started to cry, and Costas allegedly slapped the infant in the face, said Chew.
The infant was taken to Elmhurst Hospital about 10:30 p.m. in stable condition, Chew said.
Boudias was arrested and also charged with violating a court order of protection.
