The Queens Museum of Art highlights a range of compelling glass works in “Heart of Glass,” on display through May 27. Seven international artists take a conceptual and poetic approach to the medium while demonstrating its versatility. A kaleidoscope of shape, texture, color and size is employed by each artist to evoke visceral reactions to their themes of nature, science, folklore, myths, and history. Exhibits/Demonstrations

The Queens Library Foundation will hold a Gala Dinner Dance on Wednesday, May 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, Long Island. Instruction/lectures
