Whitestone Wanderers 12s sweep Terryville

The 12-year-old Whitestone Wanderers won both games of their doubleheader against Terryville Sunday. Christopher Moreno struck out eight batters in three innings and was the winning pitcher in the first game.

Mike Georgeau led the offense with three hits. Dean Gykas, Derek Lamacchia and Rob Liquori had two hits each, and Chris Garthright, Steven Mare, Christopher Moreno, Giancarlo Santillo and Lambros Vandoros each had a hit in the 13-1 win.

In the second game, Lamacchia, Liquori, Mare and Vandoros had hits, and Christopher Cacioppo, Carlo Cataldo, Moreno and Santillo drew walks as the Wanderers scored six times in the second inning.

Liquori and Cataldo pitched three strong innings each and held Terryville to one run in the 6-1 victory.
