CORONA – A 41-year-old man was arrested Saturday after his three-year-old grandson fell from a third floor balcony, police said.
Calvin Ellerbe was supposed to have been watching his grandson when the boy wandered onto the balcony at 57-18 Granger Ave. and fell, police said.
The boy was taken to New York Hospital Medical Center Queens and then transferred to Cornell Medical Center in serious condition, police said.
The Daily News quoted law enforcement sources as saying Ellerbe had passed out from drinking when his grandson took the plunge. Ellerbe was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
