It was sure to be a great moment for the entire City in its continuing war against crime, as 1,735 new police officers graduated in a grand ceremony at Madison Square Garden last week, but after all was said and done; some communities were left out in the cold when it was announced where those officers would be assigned.
Out of 1,735 new police officers, the 49th Precinct was assigned a grad total of zero new officers. The news of a total snub when it comes to the 49th Precinct has angered an entire community that has continued to push for more police throughout the years, a push that was successful when they received 22 new officers from the last graduating class, only to see them ignored afterwards.
