45th officers save bound hostage in dramatic Sampson Ave. rescue

By Bobby Ciafardini

Officers from the 45th Precinct may have saved a hostage from being shot to death on Sampson Avenue last week, authorities said.

In a bizarre scene, as cop responded to a 911 call about a disturbance, a 44-year-old Hispanic male, bloodied and heavily duct taped across his body, came charging out of a bathroom inside an apartment at 2859 Sampson Avenue on Tuesday, January 24, screaming to four cops from the 45th Precinct that a pair of perpetrators, who had taken him hostage earlier that day, intended to shoot him to death, police said.
