John J. Clabby of Flushing passed away on March 9. He was 85 years old. A retired Supreme Court Justice and World War II veteran, Clabby founded the law firm of Zeigler, Murray, Gill, Clabby and Regan. Clabby was a candidate for the assembly in 1968 and helped his niece, Ann Margaret Carrozza, win election to the Assembly in 1996. He was the beloved husband of Gloria and the late Emily G. Loving father of Susan Young (John), Daniel (Marian), and the late John. Beloved grandfather of John, Kathleen, Michael, Susan A., and Thomas. Devoted brother of Robert. Loving uncle of Assemblywoman Ann Margaret Carrozza and other nieces and nephews. Arrangements were handled by the Martin A. Gleason Funeral Home in Flushing. A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Mel’s RC Church. Interment was at Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Flushing Hospital Cardiology Department, 45th Avenue at Parsons Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11255 would be appreciated.
