Not A Fan Of Access-A-Ride

Bravo! It is about time someone wrote about the various horror stories with Access-A-Ride.
Since last spring, riding as a guest with a senior lady here in Flushing, we have had several types of problems in that period: No show last November outside the Main St. movie house after waiting a full hour; coming 45 minutes late twice this winter; coming too early and leaving quickly without picking up the rider; taking a scenic route and picking up two or three other parties en route to Manhattan, etc.
Why does the city continue their contract?
Aren’t there other companies with similar territorial coverage and reasonable rates and policies?
In both Queens and Manhattan in the past two years I have seen “elite” vans and one or two other names. The public should know about these as alternatives to the bad treatment we get now!
