Trends to trash & to try

On your mark - get set - GO!
It is the final stretch until summer arrives, but when it arrives, will your wardrobe be ready? The winds of change are blowing through and I am here to make sure everyone’s closet is up to speed.
This year, everyone and everything was all about being “vintage.” It was cool to wear shirts that our parents probably wore when they were teens.
Well I say, it is time to stop living (or at least dressing) in the past and trade old and rugged in for more fun and bright colors - the kind that can be found in our new millennium.
A literally big thing this year was oversized sunglasses.
Don’t get me wrong, Jackie O. is one of my biggest fashion icons, but I am sure she would have forgiven me for making the transition from oversized sunglasses to aviator eyewear. Whether it is on the fashion runway or an airplane runway, aviators are bound to take off this summer.
My favorite pair of jeans this year was my Abercrombie and Fitch ripped jeans. When people asked if I paid extra for all the holes in the jeans, I responded “Of course I do! What other article of clothing can you find with built in ventilation?” It has finally come time to say that ripped jeans should R.I.P.
Nevertheless, have no fear Bermuda shorts are here! They are not quite capris and not quite shorts so they are appropriate to wear all summer long. In addition, with a name like Bermuda, it is practically a vacation every time you wear them.
Now that your wardrobe is up to speed, make sure you can keep up.
When in doubt, remember the wise words of Smokey the Bear:
“Only you can prevent fashion disasters!”
