The Queens Library at Briarwood, 85-12 Main Street, recently reopened following renovations and readers from the surrounding communities are now able to take advantage of the new improvements.
Readers can now take advantage of fast, self-service checkouts, computers in the young adult section and a new customer information center.
In addition, the library increased its collection of books, music, videos and installed new laptop workstations for customers.
“A great library is essential for every community,” said Councilmember James Gennaro. “I am proud to help ensure that the Briarwood Library has the tools it needs to be a great library and serve our community well into the 21st century.”
The library was closed for approximately 14 weeks in order to complete the modernization.
