Timmy Lee Walker, 33, of 117-36 141st St., is scheduled to be sentenced by State Supreme Court Judge Arthur Cooperman on Feb. 8 after having been convicted of second-degree murder, kidnapping, robbery and weapons charges, Brown said.Brown said a jury found Walker guilty after a two-week trial and four hours of deliberations. The conviction stems from an incident in September 2004 when Walker shot and killed 22-year-old Tony Brunson in the basement of 131-26 140th St. in Jamaica. Brown described the home as a “crack den.”Brown said Walker robbed James Hubbard at gunpoint in the basement around 2:40 a.m. on Sept. 4, 2004. The DA said Hubbard left the home but returned about an hour later with a friend and Brunson, his stepson. The three men then rushed into the basement, apparently seeking to “avenge the robber,” Brown said.Brown said that when the men entered the basement, Walker shot Brunson four times, including once through the heart. Walker also shot Hubbard in the thigh, Brown said.Hubbard and the unnamed friend then managed to subdue Walker until police arrived, Brown said. Brown said Walker's conduct “took a life and shattered a family.”Reach reporter Craig Giammona by e-mail at news@timesledger.com or by phone at 718-229-0300, Ext. 146.
