Just hours after the Bodega Association and borough community officials held a press conference to highlight a rash of recent grocery story robberies last week, the corner-store crooks struck again, completing their 10th robbery in less than a month.
The latest victim, Middletown Deli at 2902 Middletown Road, at the corner of Edison Avenue in Pelham Bay, was robbed at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24.
The Bronx Robbery Squad has determined that this incident is part of the recent spree. The descriptions of the culprits matched those of the sought-after-suspects: two black males, one 6-foot-1 and one 5-foot-5.
Although the recent robbery victims were fortunately left uninjured, the suspects are deemed armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding the bodega robberies can report it anonymously to the Crime Stoppers hotline at (212) 577-TIPS.
